The book “I Don't Look Like What I've Been Through” by Deborah Thomas is an on- time testament of the healing power of God, walking by faith, and refusing to live in fear and silence. This book is for all women, but especially our African-American sisters. We fulfill so many roles whether at home or in our jobs or careers. Too often we care for others more than ourselves. In these pages lies a wake-up call for us to listen to our bodies and take action for our health and well-being.

My mother-in-law was a breast cancer survivor who lived to be 82 years young. Her latter years were her best years. She was a survivor.  Deborah and the women who share their stories are survivors-- and so are you.
